Takeda consider buying Nycomed

As reported by The Independent, Japan-based Takeda Pharmaceuticals is currently considering acquiring their Swiss rival, Nycomed in a deal worth £7bn.

The acquisition is part of the company’s plan to access the European and emerging markets. It would also provide Takeda with access to the lung disease drug, Daxas, having previously focused their work on diabetes and heart disease.
