Pfizer saves 650 jobs at their Sandwich site

As reported by PM Live, the pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, save 650 jobs at its R&D unit in Kent.

Speaking of the announcement, Annette Doherty, Head of Research and Site Leader, said these jobs would be central to the research and development of projects.

The good news does not stop here, in addition, a further 250 staff at their Sandwich site are to be transferred to other Pfizer R&D sites in Cambridgeshire and Surrey.

Pfizer’s Sandwish site has been repositioned as a ‘Discovery Park’ with the aim of attracting businesses to the area once Pfizer has left. However, the pharma company recently announced that they would be retaining a larger presence here to help boost appeal to investors.
