As reported by the PharmaTimes, the pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, will be continuing to make pharmaceutical job cuts as part of their cost-cutting programme following their recent acquisition of Wyeth.
After the acquisition Wyeth, Pfizer announced plans to cut it’s workforce by 15 per cent, ultimately cutting over 19,000 pharmaceutical jobs. Indeed, by the end of the third quarter this year, almost 18,000 positions had been cut and in May, it was announced that 6,000 manufacturing jobs would be abolished.
Now, it appears the job culling is continuing, as the pharmaceutical company announced, “we expect to exceed our original 15% workforce reduction target”.
