EHS Manager

CK Group are recruiting for a EHS Manager to join a chemical manufacturing company based in Derbyshire, this is a permanent role.

The Company:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of advanced chemicals supplying to many companies worldwide.Your main duties will be:

• Lead the planning, development and implementation of the companies Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, programmes and procedures in compliance with applicable regulations within the UK and, in particular, with COMAH regulations.
• Initiate programmes to raise safety awareness of employees.
• Discuss safety concerns, participate in the investigation of at-risk conditions, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Manage the site safety meetings and related programmes.
• Create, conduct, and assign area monthly safety inspections.
• Fully understand and maintain all environmental regulations, permits, and reporting.
• Implement safety policies and procedures.
• Interface with regulators as needed for normal business and inspections.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science or chemicals
• At least 10 years of EHS program development, implementation and leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of, and experience with, major UK environmental regulatory
• Strong knowledge of, and experience with, major health & safety programmes including but not limited to Lockout-Tagout-Try, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, etc.
• Experience working with independent standards organisations and certification programmes such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Experience of having worked at a COMAH site
