Ian Marlow at CK Clinical is looking for multiple Project Managers for office or home based permanent employment with a CRO based within East Anglia.

Job Description: Responsible for project management activities relating to clinical trials

Areas of responsibility include: Providing project management leadership, guidance, risk and issue management and problem solving support for all team members within each function on assigned projects Assisting with the preparation of quality cost estimates and project feasibility proposals Attending client and bid defence meetings Reviewing cost estimates and assumptions with the client post-study award and prior to or during the finalisation of the contract Responsibility for determining, maintaining, and communicating internally the accurate understanding of client expectations Enforcing delegation of roles and responsibilities between the client and the company and any third party vendors Escalating performance issues with any third party vendors to client and management Ensuring client reports are produced and delivered on time and with accurate information Leading internal and client project meetings Overseeing the preparation and status tracking of Letters of Intent and Project Specific Task Orders, ensuring that contracts are in place prior to the delivery of any final project-related deliverables on assigned projects Ensuring that relevant Secrecy Agreements are in place prior to releasing confidential information to third parties Conducting ongoing reviews of project assumptions to ensure that sufficient budget has been allocated to project; re-negotiating with the client as required Ensuring that budgets are tracked and kept up-to-date Preparing financial and project team activity forecasts Ensuring that the project is conducted in accordance with the contract and remains in scope Overseeing and authorising invoicing of the client and payment to subcontractors Responsibility for the successful negotiation of contract agenda to Task Order, Out of Scope activities with clients Ensuring deviations in scope or time with regards to contracted deliverables and milestones are raised proactively with client Accountable, on assigned projects, for the overall management of the project team by ensuring that the Project Leads within each service function are appropriately coordinating, resourcing, planning and managing the tasks and actions associated with their deliverables Guiding Project Leads on constructing robust function plans Developing overall project plan including the function project plans across departments (or programme plan, as appropriate), and ensuring continuity with assumptions and timelines Guiding Project Leads on setting internal milestones and project objectives and ensuring that project team members (PTMs) work towards same goals Working with line managers and Project Leads to devise the staffing structure for each project and document delegated responsibilities Regularly reviewing project status and working with Project Leads to ensure that project issues and risks are appropriately managed Ensuring project post-mortems are conducted and that learning points are shared across teams and addressed in future costing proposals Coordinating impact on financial projections with Finance

General responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the company's development of new systems, processes and SOPs
  • Business develop expert support – contributing to meetings

Experience and skills required:

  • Established project management skills
  • Strong clinical data management or programming background
  • Proven experience within the Pharmaceutical or CRO Industry and with proven experience and competency in managing timelines, budgets and quality across a portfolio of assigned projects
  • Organisational and matrix management skills with the ability to proactively prioritise projects
  • Budgeting and resourcing skills
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Clinical development knowledge across Phase I through IV studies
