Lucy Stendall at CK Clinical is recruiting for a Research Nurse to join CK Aspire on either a part time or full time basis in the Newcastle area.

Reporting via the nurse team lead/project manager, you will provide a pivotal role in supporting the study within the primary care practices, liaising with your assigned lead, GPs, practice staff and other health care providers.

The main purpose of the role will be

  • Working with identified centres in primary care practice to drive study compliance, success and momentum
  • Performing study visits with patients who have volunteered for the study.
  • Gaining patient consent
  • Reviewing patients as per protocol
  • Understanding the requirements to maintain, wherever possible, the methodology of the study when contacting patients
  • Performing administrative duties, as defined within the study protocol
  • Being a facilitator for project success and being part of the operational team
  • Working with identified centres in primary care practice to drive study compliance, success and momentum
  • Performing administrative duties, as defined within the study protocol

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Adhering to ICH GCP guidelines throughout the course of the study
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to patient data confidentiality
  • Adhering to all relevant CK policies
  • Establishing and sustaining effective working relationships across all GP Practices
  • Undertaking and demonstrating an understanding of all mandatory training as appropriate to the role
  • Promoting, monitoring and maintaining best practice in health, safety and security
  • Fully engaging with professional development planning as appropriate
  • Demonstrating professional integrity and support for study success

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Clinically competent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Highly motivated with the ability to organise own work and meet deadlines
  • Clean driving licence and willing to use own car for business use
  • RN1 registered nurse with a UK recognised qualification
  • A diploma in respiratory care would be an advantage as would experience of research or ICH GCP, however this training could be provided for the right candidates
  • Experience of working in primary care would be highly desirable
  • Expert therapy knowledge in the field of respiratory diseases would be desirable, i.e. holding a diploma of asthma/COPD care.
