Medical Advisor - Surrey

Hendre Moolman at CK Clinical is recruiting for a Medical Advisor to join a global pharmaceutical company at their site based in Surrey on a permanent basis.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be to:

  • Provide medical knowledge to champion pipeline molecules, to ensure optimum delivery of UK study programmes and to support marketing activities associated inline brands.
  • Development responsibilities with the support of the Senior Medical Advisor and/or Medical Affairs Manager
  • Stay abreast of the Therapeutic Area (TA) pipeline
  • Be the “Product Champion” for the pipeline molecules
  • Provide input into the global Clinical Development Plan (CDP), study designs, protocols to ensure UK needs are addressed
  • Provide strategic input into RE/global via the RE Medical Experts and/or the IMB forum and/or the global teams
  • Attract strategically important trials into the UK
  • Provide input into study feasibility (TAP 1)
  • Develop and maintain KOL/investigator relationships in conjunction with Scientific Operations
  • Act as chief investigator for designated studies
  • Provide input into the ethics submissions, informed consent
  • Provide input/support at Investigator meetings
  • Conduct joint site visit as appropriate
  • Is held accountable for the success of clinical trial delivery
  • Ensure the End of Study results are shared with the investigators as appropriate
  • Provide input into the local publication plan
  • Ensure all GCP requirements are adhered to and the study is inspection ready Local Medical Affairs Activities With the support of the Senior Medical Advisor and/or Medical Affairs Manager
  • Provide input into the Strategic Plans (5 years) and Operational Plans (1 year)
  • Support marketing to drive strategic positioning, differentiation and key marketing messages for Brand(s)
  • Provide input into promotional campaigns for the Brand
  • Using an in-depth understanding of the clinical data, works with the brand team and Scientific Advisor to develop and support key claims
  • Based on medical expertise and scientific evidence, identifies clinical areas of opportunity/differentiation for the brands
  • With the Scientific Advisor, ensures absolute compliance (NP4 and ABPI/MHRA) for all promotional materials and activities
  • If required, work towards final signatory ABPI/MHRA sign off status
  • With the Scientific Advisor, manage complaints against competitor promotional campaigns - With the Scientific Advisor, defend complaints from competitor companies and other parties
  • Provide Brand training and conference support
  • Provide medical input to Health Technology Appraisals
  • Work in partnership with marketing to develop high quality briefing and promotional materials
  • Support the broader Medical Department to manage customer enquiries (e.g. MDAs, Medical Information, DSE)
  • Ensure the Scientific Operations Team are kept abreast of any new data
  • Develops and maintains KOL relationships in conjunction with Scientific Operations

You are required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Diploma of Pharmaceutical Medicine
  • Medically qualified and GMC registered physician, preferably with higher medical qualification or scientific degrees
  • Experience with pharmaceutical industry preferred
