Russell Oakley at CK Clinical is recruiting for an Associate Clinical Contracts & Budgets to join a company in the biotechnology industry at their site based in Cambridgeshire on a contract basis.

The main purpose of the role will be to:

  • Negotiate contract, study budget and milestones with site within defined parameters;
  • Support resolution of contract issues;
  • Support contracting with local vendors;
  • Ensure payments are made in accordance with contracts;
  • Maintain contract and payment data tracking in appropriate systems; Actively contribute to results oriented department goals;
  • Drive continuous improvement of GCSM;
  • Promote operational and scientific excellence within local GCSM;
  • Identify opportunities and best practices with local and regional partners that will contribute to;
  • Manage the contract process for the sites for all contracts;
  • Negotiate contract with site, responding to comments within defined parameters set and seeking legal input for issues outside parameters set;
  • Initiate and participate in meetings with site/legal to resolve contract issues;
  • Prepare / coordinate translations of contracts as required;
  • Track contract progression using appropriate systems;
  • Be responsible for the contracting process for locally outsourced studies;
  • Ensure signature process is complete;
  • Storage and archiving of contracts for country;
  • Lead the review of the budget template with local project manager for country feedback on FMV (Fair Market Value) and the Schedule A template;
  • Negotiate site budget from the base budget and payment milestones using appropriate guidelines;
  • Complete the final Schedule A template for addition to the contract showing the final agreed budget per site;
  • Escalate contract/budget issues to Legal / local & global project manager as appropriate;
  • Manage supplier information and arrange for set up on relevant financial systems;
  • Manage payment data in financial systems;
  • Execute payments ensuring that spending is within approved contract budgets;
  • Perform ongoing and/or end-of-study contract budget reconciliation as needed;
  • Process and track Confidential Disclosure Agreements;
  • Single point of contact for Clinical Trials Insurance process

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • BA/BS/BSc or qualified nurse (RN); Finance administration, project management, contracting or other relevant work experience in life sciences or medically related field;
  • Knowledge of contracting processes in UK & Ireland
  • Work experience in life sciences or medically related field, including biopharmaceutical clinical research experience obtained working on clinical trials in a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company;
  • Attention to detail;

  • Relationship management;
  • Time management & prioritization;
  • Flexibility;- Written and oral communication skills;
  • Local languages & English;
  • Good working knowledge of common software packages;
