EU Pharmaceutical Companies Expand into Russia

As reported by The Pharma Letter, two major European pharmaceutical companies are planning to expand into the Russian Pharmaceutical market in the coming years.


France-based, Sanofi plan to boost their share of the insulin market in Russia. In addition, they plan to increase production at their Russian plant of it’s cancer, orphan and over-the-counter drugs. Sanofi currently have a market share of approximately 5 per cent in Russia.


The German pharmaceutical company, Bayer are planning to launch the production of antiobiotics in the Russian market. They plan to market Avelox and Tsiprobay antibiotics with poduction of these drugs will taking place at their Medsintez plant.
