Each week CK Clinical tries to give you a picture of the state of the CRA jobs market in the UK. Whether you are a CRA looking for a new role or an employer seeking new CRAs to join your team, keeping up to date with industry news that impacts you is essential as the pharmaceutical jobs market in the UK moves incredibly fast.
Our tracking is based on each week screening some of the UKs leading vacancy boards for how many CRA jobs have been advertised within the last 7 days. As always, there is likely to be some repetition across jobs boards and some duplicate posting but our goal is to build up a picture of trends over time.
This week’s summary for week commencing the 11th of May 2015 relates to CRA vacancies posted on:
- New Scientist
- CV Library
- Willey job network
- Access Science jobs.
Our results showed that on these job boards a total of 1040 CRA jobs were published in the last week, compared to 864 the week before with:
- 892 permanent roles
- 148 contract roles
Clinical Research Associate jobs have once again exceeded the 1000 jobs mark. This is only the 2nd time we have seen this occur since we began tracking job volumes back in February 2014. However the biggest growth on this occasion is in contract positions, whereas when we hit 1000 jobs two weeks ago it was permanent roles that saw the biggest rise. This increased demand in contract workers could be a sign a new research project is kicking off, so if you are a temp worker now is a good time to start applying.
