CK Group is exhibiting at the upcoming RQA Annual Conference

Between November 9th and 11th CK Group will be exhibiting on stand 14 at the 2016 RQA Annual Conference which is being held at the Hilton Brighton Hotel Metropole.

CK have long been an advocate of the RQA and have attended the Annual Conference for many years. With a long history of helping to source and place highly qualified QA professionals into pharmaceutical, biotechnological, medical device and scientific organisations, CK feel a natural affinity to the goals and objectives of the RQA.

With this year’s event looking at the emerging challenges faced by the industry as they try to balance increasing innovation, transparency and risk-based approached against the drive towards reducing costs and working more efficiently and effectively. As a result there are shifting requirements from the industry which is forcing the traditional role of QA to change, moving towards a more proactive quality solution orientated responsibilities. The role of a QA professional has to become a more active role with a view to adding value to the organisation.

CK’s Jim Gleeson and Jason Johal will be on hands throughout the event on stand 14 to provide advice and support to employers and QA professionals.

CRA Vacancies Market – 18th October 2016

Whether you are a CRA looking for a new role or an employer seeking new CRAs to join your team, keeping up to date with industry news that impacts you is essential as the pharmaceutical jobs market in the UK moves incredibly fast.

Our tracking is based on each week screening some of the UKs leading vacancy boards for how many CRA jobs have been advertised within the last 7 days. As always, there is likely to be some repetition across jobs boards and some duplicate posting but our goal is to build up a picture of trends over time.

This week’s summary for week commencing the 18th October 2016 relates to CRA vacancies posted on:

  • New Scientist
  • Monster
  • CV Library
  • Emedcareers
  • Pharmiweb
  • Willey job network
  • Access Science jobs.

Our results showed that on these job boards a total of 731 CRA jobs were published in the last week:

  • 314 permanent roles
  • 417 contract roles

There has been some unusual activity in CRA recruitment this week. The total number of jobs has increase by 13%, however for the first time ever we have tracked contract roles with higher numbers than permanent. CK have been tracking CRA jobs since the start of 2015 so to see this role reversal for the first time ever has been a surprise. To get to this point we have seen permanent roles decline by 42% and the demand for contractors grow by 408%. This is highly unusual and we are currently unaware of what could have caused it.

There has been a minor decline in the volume of clinical research jobs over the last seven days. This has seen permanent roles reduce by 1% and interim roles dropping by a more substantial 21%. However, considering we have been tracking a clear upward trend over the last 4 -5 weeks, we are anticipating this having a short term affect.
