CRA Vacancies Market – 9th August 2016

Whether you are a CRA looking for a new role or an employer seeking new CRAs to join your team, keeping up to date with industry news that impacts you is essential as the pharmaceutical jobs market in the UK moves incredibly fast.

Our tracking is based on each week screening some of the UKs leading vacancy boards for how many CRA jobs have been advertised within the last 7 days. As always, there is likely to be some repetition across jobs boards and some duplicate posting but our goal is to build up a picture of trends over time.

This week’s summary for week commencing the 9th August 2016 relates to CRA vacancies posted on:

  • New Scientist
  • Monster
  • CV Library
  • Emedcareers
  • Pharmiweb
  • Willey job network
  • Access Science jobs.

Our results showed that on these job boards a total of 569 CRA jobs were published in the last week:

  • 505 permanent roles
  • 64 contract roles

There has been a continued decline in jobs this week with 14 fewer jobs advertised on the job boards. This is a smaller drop than the previous week, but implies that there are still some ongoing concerns regarding the UK’s future which is delaying in the recruitment plans for many organisations. This coupled with the normal summer season could create some unsettled figures over the coming weeks.

After 2015’s been a huge recruitment year for the clinical research sector, it’s disappointing that it has been such an inconsistent year for recruitment.

CRA Vacancies Market – 6th July 2016

Whether you are a CRA looking for a new role or an employer seeking new CRAs to join your team, keeping up to date with industry news that impacts you is essential as the pharmaceutical jobs market in the UK moves incredibly fast.

Our tracking is based on each week screening some of the UKs leading vacancy boards for how many CRA jobs have been advertised within the last 7 days. As always, there is likely to be some repetition across jobs boards and some duplicate posting but our goal is to build up a picture of trends over time.

This week’s summary for week commencing the 6th July 2016 relates to CRA vacancies posted on:

  • New Scientist
  • Monster
  • CV Library
  • Emedcareers
  • Pharmiweb
  • Willey job network
  • Access Science jobs.

Our results showed that on these job boards a total of 636 CRA jobs were published in the last week:

  • 542 permanent roles
  • 94 contract roles

We have been tracking a steady decline in clinical jobs over the last few weeks with a 10% drop in the last week, and 13% in the last three weeks. This behaviour implies that there is a degree of hesitation around recruitment in the clinical research field. This is not unexpected following the recent Brexit results and we anticipate this continuing over the coming weeks whilst companies become more confident in the future.

How to start your clinical career

The role of a Clinical Trial Associate, some times known as a Clinical Trial Administrator or Clinical Trial Assistant can vary between company to company. CRA Vacancies Market – 7th June 2016

This week’s summary for week commencing the 7th June 2016 relates to CRA vacancies posted on:

  • New Scientist
  • Monster
  • CV Library
  • Emedcareers
  • Pharmiweb
  • Willey job network
  • Access Science jobs.

Our results showed that on these job boards a total of 680 CRA jobs were published in the last week:

  • 574 permanent roles
  • 106 contract roles

There has been a 3% decline in the total number of clinical jobs being advertised in the last week. This drop has impacted both permanent and contract roles, with contract roles seeing the largest decrease. This contradicts the behaviours we have seen in the other CK divisions which have followed a trend of decreasing permanent roles and increasing demand for contractors. We have assumed this has been related to the upcoming referendum, but it doesn’t seem like CRA positions are less affected by government decisions.
