CK Group are recruiting for a Regulatory Affairs Scientist to join a fast growing start-up organisation in Bristol on a permanent basis. 

The Company:

Our client are tackling the issues of plastic pollution and climate change, by replacing single-use, fossil fuel-based plastics with biomaterials made from seaweed.

Location:

This is an office based role located at our clients offices in Bristol. 

Compensation:

As a Regulatory Affairs Scientist your main focus will be to lead and manage the food contact approval process and REACH registration for our clients materials portfolio. You will also be responsible for managing sustainability certifications of our clients products, supporting our patent filing process and developing strategies for intellectual property management. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the preparation of technical dossiers and regulatory documents for food contact material approval and REACH registration, working closely with a regulatory consultant and technical team.
  • Overseeing the material testing required for regulatory submissions, and efficient assembly of testing data.
  • Ensuring that all products and processes comply with local, national, and international food contact legislation and other relevant product safety requirements.
  • Developing and implementing regulatory strategies and pathways for global market entry of our packaging materials in the food & drinks sector.

Your Background:

  • Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or regulatory science.
  • +3 years’ project management experience, ideally in a regulatory environment, with proven ability to effectively and independently lead multiple projects and meet target deadlines.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in preparing technical dossiers, for example for regulatory submissions .
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, legislation and standards, for example food contact materials regulations (EU, UK and US) and REACH.
